July 9-10 Northfield, VT, Green Mountain Military Vehicle Club - Living history and education display , July 10: St. Albans Living History *NEW EVENT* organized by Steve Smith and the Magnolia Rifles for more info click here PLAN OF THE DAY (SCHEDULE) 8am- Arrival and Set-Up 9am- Open to Public 10am- Drill and Maneuver 10:30am- Firing Demonstrations 11:00am- Static Displays (Life as a Civil War Soldier) 12:00n- Lunch 1:00p- Drill and Maneuver 1:30p- Firing Demonstrations 2:00p- Static Displays (Life as a Civil war Soldier) 3:00p- Break Camp
*Static Displays: Meet the reenactors and see various presentations of military equipment and personal items that would have been used by Civil War soldiers. See the difference between the Union and Confederate camps. See how the soldiers prepared their meals and roasted coffee over an open fire. See actual artifacts including various muskets, shells, documents, and other period items. *Drill and Maneuver: See the reenactors move through the steps and commands of moving units in the field. Learn how and why civil war battles were fought with long lines of opposing forces. *Firing Demonstrations: Reenactors will show and exhibit firing commands throughout the day as both individuals and as units firing together in simultaneous volleys.
